How to get to ASSEMBLY Winter 2023? Read this!
The event takes place at Messukeskus, Pasila, Helsinki. Assembly has no age limit and is allowed for all ages. However, the recommended age limit for children and youngsters arriving without their parents is 13 years. Some of the esports program is only intended for viewers over 16 years of age.
It is easy to get to Messukeskus by several different means of public transport and by car.
There are two entrances to the event: Southern (Messuaukio 1) and the LAN-entrance behind Messukeskus. The LAN entrance can be found at the maintenance door on June 5, which is on the Messukeskus parking lot side. The nearest address is Ratapihantie 17. Those arriving with visitor tickets, i.e. without their own parking space, are recommended to arrive via the Southern entrance, i.e. the main entrance of the Messukeskus (Messuaukio 1).
All tickets are exchanged for wristbands upon entering the event. You are free to exit the event area as you wish. You will find the wristband exchange at the LAN entrance on all days, but LAN-entrance’s ticket sale is available only on Thursday.
Those who are coming to ASSEMBLY with their computers or gaming gear are to arrive through the LAN-entrance, as you can also get to its vicinity by car and it is easier to unload the gear this way.
Those arriving by public transport should walk from Pasila along the side of Messukeskus towards the Ratapihantie 17 parking building. Bit before the end of the Messukeskus building you will find a ramp to an underpass tunnel. Immediately on the right side of the ramp, there are stairs that will take you to the LAN-entrance’s platform.
After unloading your computers, gaming gear and other things, the car must be immediately moved away from the loading area. The car may not be parked in the loading area. After unloading, you can park the car in the nearby Messuparkki building, where parking is free for the first 1 hour. So bringing your child or friends to the place and loading the setups from car is possible within this time frame.
There are two parking lots at Messukeskus. Near the LAN entrance is Messuparkki and near the southern entrance is Siipiparkki/Congressiparkki. Europark is responsible for parking for both, and parking permits can be purchased through them. More information about parking on the website of Messukeskus. You can pay for parking in advance, on the spot or afterwards.
Outside the LAN entrance, there are trolleys, which can be used to transport the devices to your computer seat. The empty trolley must be returned to the designated area. Please notice that the weather has been surprisingly snowy, so it might be a better idea to carry your gear to the entrance (5.6) and then load everything into trolleys inside.
The event starts on Thursday, 23rd of February at 12:00 and closes on Sunday 26th of February at 16:00. The event is ongoing 24 hours a day.
With a premium ticket, you can enter the event already 2 hours earlier than others, Thursday 23rd of February starting from 10:00 a.m.
For those who come to Assembly for several days, there is a sleeping area and possibility for showering and saunaing. We suggest you to bring your own pillow, mattress and sleeping bag for more comfortable sleeping. More information about sleeping here.
The event has several different restaurant and cafe services. You can also bring your own snacks. There is a microwave in the appliance area for heating your own snacks. There are plenty of shops and other restaurants in the nearby area. Read more about restaurant services here.
The cloakroom is available 24 hours a day at the South entrance. The cloakroom costs €2/transaction.
The security of the event is ensured by orderlies, first aid personnel and trained harassment contact persons.
Holders of a machine seat ticket should read the party guide carefully before arriving.
We have also put together an information package for parents whose children are coming to the event.
Before the event, we recommend you to download Assembly’s application (both for Android and iOS), where you will find the schedule and the event map.
You can find the desktop version of Sched’s schedule here.
