Assembly Summer 2024

Get tickets

School of Gaming returns with Mini-LANs! Daily computer spots available for children and teens include a computer, a game educator, and plenty of fun activities in a safe environment!

School of Gaming organizes an incredibly fun Mini-LAN for gamers aged 8-14 at the ASSEMBLY Summer 2024 computer festival at Messukeskus! You don’t need to bring your own gaming rig, but you can if you want to. At Mini-LANs, there’s a game educator to take care of the gamers and organize fun LAN activities!

Mini-LAN games will primarily include Minecraft and other age-appropriate games like Rocket League and Fall Guys. Game educators strictly enforce age restrictions, so games rated K-16 and above are not allowed at the Mini-LAN table.

The highlight of our Mini-LAN program is the SUPERDUPER Minecraft tournament, held exclusively on Saturday on the Content Stage. Those with a Saturday ticket can participate in the tournament and win amazing prizes. The ticket price also includes free SOG merchandise.

SOG Lounge

In addition to the MiniLAN table, there’s an SOG Lounge on-site where parents can meet School of Gaming’s game educators and staff to discuss game education and gaming-related topics. Parents can also relax in the Retro Corner, which features a few nostalgic retro consoles to try out.

Mini-LAN Schedule

The schedule will be finalized closer to the event, but it will include activities such as:

Online activities on our Minecraft server

  • Parkour track
  • Helicopter track
  • Rally track
  • Submarine track
  • SOG Survival Bingo
  • Assembly City building project

Offline activities every couple of hours:

  • Paper airplane contest
  • KPS Showdown
  • Carrot in the Box
  • Minion Hunt
  • 80’s Retro Corner for parents

The SUPERDUPER Minecraft tournament will be held on the Content Stage on Saturday (available only to those with a Saturday ticket).

What is SOG?

SOG, or School of Gaming, takes young gamers’ hobbies to the next level. The school is located on the internet and connects to your home via network cables. Game educators, or gedus (Game Educators), act as guides through the most extraordinary gaming adventures, which you can join at any time. In lessons, gamers learn useful life skills from problem-solving to programming, dive into game worlds created by SOG, participate in esports tournaments, and become part of a safe gaming community.
